Case Study: Homepage Hover Interactivity
This project involved reducing visual clutter and enhancing the visual identity of homepage.
This case study was based on this website's idea: https://www.rom.on.ca/
I took inspiration from the Royal Ontario Museum. I noticed that they take advantage of the medium of video to showcase the atmosphere and various displays of the museum. It also supports the visual intrigue upon visiting the webpage that will help drive traffic towards our main pages.
The resulting homepage is able to effectively communicate the tone and visual aesthetic of the webpage. Additionally, I am also able drive traffic and adopt a more versatile medium to display the possibilities of this website.
The problem I ran into initially in the development stage was that the homepage was too static and was not effective enough in showing off all of the intrigue of the website.
However, with the addition of these hover video changes, the homepage is allowed to become more interactive and engaging to the user.
