Case Study: Portfolio Asset Creation
Created custom assets to support the general aesthetic of my portfolio.

I took some reference from the GSAP homepage. I noticed how they use the landing page as a way to articulate their purpose, potential and functionality. They use a combination of subtle and captivating visuals to accentuate their usability.
The resulting product is a much needed improvement. Though obviously not perfect, I'm happy with my ability to recognize suboptimal design / ineffective uses of space. It is a skill that I plan on honing constantly throughout my professional career and I want to eventually not just recognize, but to also innovate consistently and relentlessly.
The problem I was experiencing before was a very static landing page. It felt extremely underwhelming and did not show off my abilities or imagination implicitly at all. It felt very formulaic and lacking any personality at all.
I pulled back and thought about how I can show my creative coding perspective through the portfolio and realized that I was becoming too focused on function and not using empty space to my advantage. I took a deep dive into illustrator and personalized a repeatable tile background and a stylized self-portrait. Then I targeted these with CSS and JavaScript to maximize my ability to implicitly communicate my coding capabilities.
